When we opened our Elgin store in 2016 we expanded our Pencil Bar and lots of people starting asking for personalisation (we were using another supplier for our printed pencils). Within the first 2 weeks of opening I ordered a hot Foil printing press, blank pencils and taught myself how to do it!

We look at trending themes in society, sports, hobbies, jokes and big events.

A lot of customers who have received a personalised box set of 4 tell me how they sit on their desk still in the box - two awesome to use!

The sweary set for sure, its one of our best sellers but it's sharp and straight to the point.

We have lots of fun local sets including one in the local dialect.

One where nothing mis prints? A big wholesale order where it's all one phrase... Orders for cool venues

It's work in progress but we are researching to change the box our pencil sets go out in to be easily recycled and made from FSC card.

As we are a shop too, I don't think most of our local customers know about pencil printing service and how we stock over 70 independent shops & galleries all over the UK. That some of those stockists are very cool - Royal College of Arts, the Tate, Shakespeare Globe Theatre, The Turner Prize, Anya Hindmarsh etc..

Pencils are very practical usable items, but with the right print it can remind of them of being a cool gift from a thoughtful pal or perhaps a memory of great holiday when they picked them up from a cool indie shop.
