A freelance illustrator originally from Sheffield creating fun and whimsical prints, stationery and other lovely illustrated goodies. Lauren Radley is inspired to create bold, colourful and inspirational kids prints and greetings cards that have a strong theme of education, determination and individuality.
I love creating 'location designs' which capture places around the UK that are really special or have some meaning to people, whether that be in the form of a city map, or a travel poster of a national park. A lot of the places I choose to build a collection around start with either somewhere that mean a lot to me personally (like the Peak District or Sheffield), or come as requests from customers of places that they love. I try to to capture the story of a place through cute and colourful illustrations!
That they make people happy! It makes me very happy that my artwork brings people joy and makes them smile.
Probably my Peak District collection. I grew up in Sheffield, just on the edge of the Peak District, and spent so much of my childhood hiking and rock hoping around! To me, its just the most beautiful landscape, and I really enjoyed capturing it, and the diversity of the place in my work.
