About Lindsey Ahmet

A jewellery maker who handcrafts beautifully detailed and unique polymer clay jewellery. She focuses on making jewellery that is not only stunning but is also hypoallergenic, non-toxic and free from metals.

Why did you start making your products?

I started making earrings as I don’t like to wear makeup but when I'm off out somewhere I want to add something a little bit extra. I fell in love with the polymer clay process and the results and that’s how Clay and Jewel Started!

What inspires your products or collections?

I absolutely love experimenting with colour - I always start with a seasonal colour palette or two. Lots of Pinterest searching for the latest fashion, nail and jewellery trends before I create a full mood board. Then I move onto pencil drawing the earring shapes until I’m happy and then I 3D design and print my own cutters.

What is the best thing someone has said about your products?

Oh there are so many! My top two would be that my designs are unlike any others they usually see from other polymer clay makers and that my hypoallergenic plastic stud posts and rubber/silicone backs have been a life saver for them and has allowed them to wear earrings without pain and suffering.

How do you make your products more sustainable?

I keep all my scrap materials and reuse them to make either limited edition ranges or ranges to raise money for charity.

How do you want your products to make people feel?

I want my earrings and accessories to make people feel beautiful and confident and allow them to express their own personality and style. And if they have allergies to actually be able to wear affordable earrings with my hypoallergenic options, without having to pay out a fortune on things like 24 carat gold.
