How did the My Bag of Stuff Pop Up go?

Claire-carrington-handmadedesign-mybagofstuff

Yesterday we said goodbye to the lovely Claire at My Bag of Stuff’s pop up display in our shop window.  It wasn’t a sad goodbye though as we will still be stocking My Bag of Stuff pouches and tote bags – we’ve even add a few new designs!

Claire is fairly local to us, she’s based in South Derbyshire. This is where she designs and hand prints all her sustainable and personalised tote bags, pouches and drawstring bags.

We’ve been selling My Bag of Stuff Pouches for just under a year now. Without a doubt, the Mum Stuff Pouch has been our best selling pouch. It was an incredibly popular Mother Day gift choice but it sells really well for us all year round. Earlier this year, we also introduced the Mum Stuff Tote Bag – it has a fun leopard print text printed onto a natural tote.

With Claire’s display falling at the start of June, we had a chat about what we thought would work best for her display and decided to focus on Father’s Day gifts, teacher gifts and personalisation. We also trialled some of Claire’s year round best selling natural and black pouches that we didn’t already sell: Skin Stuff, Baby Stuff, Dog Stuff, Teacher Stuff and Beard Stuff.

So what was our best seller during the pop up?

Over the two weeks, we sold a lovely mix of My Bag of Stuff products. There was definitely a clear best seller for us though – the black Dad Stuff Pouch was the most popular purchase in the shop and actually sold out! With the pop up being in place in the run up to Father’s Day, lots of you were looking for something a little different to give to your Dad an this was definitely a hit. We will be looking to bring this design back later in the year as we think it’ll also make a great, unique Christmas gift for Dads.

Personalised Tote Bags were the second best seller – these were mostly ordered through social media but we did also take a few orders in the shop for these too. There was no obvious colour favourite though, we sold a mix of all the different colourways: leopard print on natural, pink on navy, white on black and lots more. We’d love to continue offering personalised totes and pouches – we’re just finalising the details with Claire on how best to go about this but hopefully you’ll see them appearing in our online shop very soon.

We’ve also decided to continue stocking the Baby Stuff, Dog Stuff and Teacher Stuff Pouches as they’ve been firm favourites too.

Are you interested in having a pop up display with you?

Pop up displays give us a chance to trial lots of new products from new and existing makers. We’re fully booked for pop up displays for 2024 but we’re always keen to hear from local artists and makers who want to learn more about showcasing their work with us. If you’re interested in finding out more about how our pop up displays work ready for 2025, please send an email to Laura on [email protected] with the subject POP UP ENQUIRY.
