Our store is the home of all things handmade. We stock unique and interesting products that have been lovingly designed and handcrafted in the UK.
We stock an every growing range of handmade products and are proud to be stocking over 100 UK Designers, Makers and Crafters from across Derbyshire, the Peak District, and the UK.
It is important to us that we sell products that have been made in the UK. Our aim is to keep things as local as possible, with a large proportion of our products being made in Derbyshire and the surrounding counties.
By stocking other small UK businesses, it means we know exactly where each item comes from and who’s made it! It’s more environmentally friendly and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint.

Local Digital Illustrator, Lisa Swift will be taking over our shop window with her unique local landscapes. Throughout April, we'll be stocking a variety of her prints, greeting cards and homeware.
This April, Fran from She Is Jewellery will be back for a second year! She'll be showcasing her pretty jewellery in our shop window, giving you a chance to shop her entire collection.
We first opened our doors in Ashbourne back in 2015. An exciting new chapter for the business began in October 2018, when the shop changed ownership and Laura became the new face behind Handmade Design.
One of Laura’s first projects was to create a website for Handmade Design and give customers the option to shop online with us. In May 2019, we launched our online shop and now post orders all over the UK.Â
