Millie Moth took over our shop window!
On Friday 20th August, Millie Moth A.K.A Karen came in to set up her beautiful window display. She spent several hours setting up – hanging artificial flowers and laying astro turf! We definitely think she nailed creating a striking, summery display with lots of colour and florals.
Karen is a local Alcohol Ink Artist, based over in Derby. She works under the brand name Millie Moth. Her artwork is known for being colourful, vibrant and floral. From her original paintings, she then has greeting cards, art prints and wrapping paper printed.
Karen has stocked in Handmade Design for nearly three years and over that time, her work has had lots of admirers! Karen has also recently joined our team on a part time basis so you may find her occasionally behind our shop counter!
To tie in with her shop window display, on Saturday 21st August, Karen did a live painting demonstration. Although it was far from our busiest Saturday with it raining most of the day, Karen still managed to have lots of lovely conversations with our customers about how she creates her artwork.
We had plenty of design and size options available to purchase during that time – far more than we usually do! And we’re pleased to say, we managed to find new homes for twelve of Karen’s framed prints.
