This month we are delighted to welcome another of our creatives to Handmade Design for a shop window takeover! And as proud supporters of local businesses, who could be better than Ashbourne artist Alli of Allicatink?
What is Allicatink?
Allicatink has been running since 2017 and provides high-quality original landscapes, art prints and commissions.
Alli is the artist behind Allicatink – she creates pen and ink artwork inspired by local landscapes.
Derbyshire’s iconic walking destinations are more than just beautiful parts of the countryside. Popular sites like Thorpe Cloud and Dovedale’s Stepping Stones are a regular source of inspiration.
Her highly detailed, monochrome sketches are a shining example of the talent of independent creators.
The person behind the pictures
Alli has been drawing for as long as she has been able.
“My love for art started when I was six and my older sister tried to teach me to draw horses, I was terrible!” She recalls.
“I started carrying around a sketchbook, drawing everything I saw. I still take a sketchbook around with me now and have kept every single book I’ve filled.”
Alli’s art has come a long way since her humble beginnings. We’re certain this picture, based on the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones, will impress you as much as it impresses us!
An Ashbourne Artist
As a lifelong resident of the market town, Ashbourne artist Alli has also produced an assortment of gorgeous landscapes of the area.
Her distinctive style aims to capture in detail the age of the roads and how they’ve developed over time.
Handmade Design has an exclusive collection of art prints of some of the more standout streets in Ashbourne. Church Street (named after Oswald’s Church) St John’s Street (with the Millennium clock) and the Market place (filled with popular pubs, shops, and cafes) are all recognisable locales.
While her portfolio includes many great works, she may have a new magnum opus!
“A piece I am particularly happy with is actually an A3 framed original I’ve created specifically for the window takeover. It is a piece in three sections showing a trip down the Tissington Trail, into Dovedale and up to the top of Thorpe Cloud.”
Could you take over our window?
Alli’s beautiful display will be with us until the 29th of August.
We’re always keen to celebrate local and independent creators. Any artist, from Ashbourne or beyond, is welcome!
Could your display be the next in our window? If so, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject POP UP ENQUIRY.
