Maker of the Month – April 2019

This month we have chosen to feature Sue from Bizzy Bee Craft 4 You as our Maker of the Month. Sue began stocking her makes with us just before Christmas 2018.

Sue makes an array of crafts – crocheted scrubbies, wash cloths, soap bags, cup cosies and jewellery as well as gift bags and notebooks.

Her craft journey first began when she made her own table decorations and flowers for her wedding. Sue has been married to her husband Alan for 15 years (this gives you a very good idea how long she’s been crafting!) and has a son, Jake, who is 10 years old.

After working in retail and training for over 25 years, Sue decided to become a full time mum to her son instead. Whilst raising Jake, Sue put her craft materials away (apart from making the occasional card and gift for friends and family).

Jake turned four and moved into his ‘big boy’ bedroom, his nursery was converted into craft room.

Sue helped care for her disabled mother who suffered from Dementia so she was only crafting as and when she could find the time. Sadly, she passed away in February 2018. Sue’s mum was always very proud of her daughter’s makes so this has spurred her on to keep making and take her hobby to the next level.

In June 2018, Sue decided to take the plunge and sell her work at a school fayre. It was very successful, and she received some lovely feedback – this was the confidence boost she needed!

Sue took the next big step and decided to contact her first potential stockist…. Handmade Design! And the rest is history…

To celebrate being chosen to be Maker of the Month, Sue has decided to offer you the opportunity to win one of her handmade crocheted necklace and keyring. If you pop in the shop and purchase any of Bizzy Bee Craft 4 You products, you will be given a raffle ticket. The raffle will run from Wednesday 3rd April until Tuesday 30th April.
